Hülle is able to deliver a full range of architectural services from inception to completion. However, quite often the client is only looking for an initial site appraisal or first ideas before moving forward. We can tailor our service to suit your requirements.
Feasibility
Most projects begin with a feasibility study to establish an initial brief and explore very early design options and viability. At this stage we’ll be looking to identify site constraints, establish budget and confirm planning policy and other statutory restrictions.
Concept Design
At this stage we’ve usually identified a preferred option, and this is then developed with the client through sketch layouts and imagery into a final proposal. We like to make physical models at Hülle. We see this as the most informative medium for developing imaginative and inspirational proposals and conveying ideas to the client.
Planning Applications
The planning process can be challenging, and it is important to understand policy and its underlying purpose. Local authorities, quite rightly, are putting in place increasingly onerous requirements in terms of design quality and environmental credentials. Applications need to be developed, tailored and presented accordingly. A comprehensive, well-presented and carefully targeted application will secure the Local Authority’s confidence and facilitate positive dialogue and outcome.
Building Regulations
The Building Regulations are a set of guidelines for complying with national construction standards and they cover structure, drainage, heat loss, energy efficiency, fire, electrical installations, water usage and disabled access. Construction projects will need to be scrutinised and signed-off by Building Control prior to occupation.
Construction Information
The most effective way of realising a project is to prepare a comprehensive package of construction information in advance of the build which can be costed and tendered to builders. This will ensure the builder accurately reflects the aesthetic and functional aspirations of the consented scheme, delivers compliance with national construction standards and incorporates the guidance embodied in the Building Regulations.
Contract Administration
By staying with the project through the build we are able to ensure that the construction information is accurately interpreted and delivered by the builder. It also means that we are on hand to deal with unexpected, but inevitable, issues which arise on site.
